St David's Day Coffee Morning

Our St David's Day Coffee Morning took place on Saturday February 27th 2016 in Victoria Hall, Llanwrtyd. It was, as in other years a success, raising just under £700 after all expenses were paid. £1,000 was also raised on a raffle for which tickets have been sold over the last few months.

Sincere thanks to everyone who was involved in any way, either helping out at the event, donating items for sale, donors of raffle prizes and cash, and to everyone who came along on the day and showed their support.

It was a lovely morning, and a pleasure to sit a while, have a coffee, and listen to the children, most of them from Ysgol Dolafon, sing and see them in their lovely Welsh costumes.

Mrs Edna James officially opened the proceedings. Edna and her family have lived in Llanwrtyd for over 40 years and are great supporters of the town.

Special thanks to Susan Price, our Trustee with special responsibility for fund raising, who works tirelessly to raise money to support the work of the project and to encourage people to become one of our 'Friends'. Many thanks also to Kirsty Williams AM who came along on the day, always one to support local causes it was good to see Kirsty in our midst.

The next fund raising event, indeed the last one before the Heritage Centre officially opens on May 14th, is a concert in Victoria Hall on Saturday April 16th when Cwmann Male Voice Choir and Mid Powys Youth Choir will be providing the entertainment.

Photographs of the Coffee Morning can be found at this link. Sincere thanks to Elin Mabbutt for taking the photographs.
